The Department of English strives to open up a world of inspiration and creativity for the students. It encourages and enhances students’ interests in how literature makes sense of the world through stories, poems, novels and plays, and motivates their own ability to write, read, analyse and persuade.

Studies in the department are conducted through extensive reading and writing so that our students can develop their skills of communication, interpretation and self-expression. They receive an introduction to essential literary genres and they study the work of great canonical writers as well as contemporary ones.

The faculty has the experience and drive to help the students reach their best potential. At the department, we encourage freedom of expression, interactive classes, class presentations to better the students’ communication skills and analytical perceptions to build their confidence and fortitude.
