About The Department

The Department of Management within Mizoram Christian College was established in 2020. The department offers a full-time Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) programme.

Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA)

The full-time BBA is a three-year undergraduate programme comprising of six semesters. The programme is designed to impart knowledge of business management and administration skills through its subjects.

Course Objectives

·         Enable young learners to develop a business sense.

·          Learn principles and practice of management.

·          Equip and enable learners to skills for setting a business.

The BBA programme seeks to provide students with the knowledge, competencies and an integrated set of skills necessary to develop critical, analytical and strong business administration skills essential for building a flourishing career in management and business fields. The programme will provide students with a broad foundation for the study of business and exposure to several business disciplines. It will contribute breadth to the knowledge of business and develop an understanding of multi-disciplinary decision making in organisations.

Department of Management Student Exchange Programme with ICFAI University

Department of Management Student Exchange Programme with ICFAI University

15.10.2025: Under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with ICFAI University, the MCC Department of Management organized a Student Exchange Programme with ICFAI on 15th October 2025 as part of the ongoing academic collaboration initiative.

As part of this programme, the Vth Semester BBA students from both MCC and ICFAI participated in an exchange visit. The students attended regular lectures, interacted with Faculty members, and participated in classroom discussions throughout the day, following the academic routine at their respective host institutions. This exchange provided students with a unique opportunity to experience a different academic environment, observe diverse teaching methodologies, and gain new perspectives on management education. The programme proved to be highly beneficial for both institutions, fostering mutual learning and strengthening academic ties.

Pursuant to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with ICFAI University, the Department of Management organized a Faculty Exchange Program on 8th October 2025, as part of the academic collaboration initiative.

Under this program, Sir Lalpianruala, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, ICFAI University visited the department and delivered a lecture on the topic “Creative Thinking & Problem Solving” for the Vth Semester BBA students. The session was well-received by both students and faculty members, marking a successful beginning to the collaborative efforts between the two institutions.

Department of Management Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM)

On 7th October 2025, the Department of Management organized a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) with the objective of strengthening collaboration between parents and faculty members for the academic and personal development of students.

As part of the meeting, elections were also held to constitute the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). The elected members constituted of a President – a parent representative from the Fifth Semester and Executive Committee Members – one parent representative each from the Third and First Semesters.

The meeting proved to be a valuable platform for collaboration between parents and teachers and was marked by active participation and positive outcomes. The meeting concluded on a positive note, reaffirming the shared commitment of parents and teachers towards the holistic growth and success of the students.

Department of Management Off-Campus Class at ICSSR-NERC Workshop

On 28th August 2025, the 1st Semester BBA students of the Department of Management participated in the ICSSR-NERC sponsored workshop on Media, Garbage, and the Environment as part of their off-campus class at MZU. The session featured a felicitation ceremony honoring two Emmy Award winners from Mizoram, Mr. H.C. Vanlalruata and Mr. Isaac Zoramsanga, who received the prestigious award for their outstanding contribution to BBC’s short-form documentary Myanmar’s Civil War. The session also felicitated Mr. Andrew Lalchhandama, the first Mizo in forty-three years to qualify for the Indian Information Service (IIS).

The workshop was led by Dr. Sayan Dey, Department Chair of English Studies, Bayan College (affiliated with Purdue University Northwest), Oman. The session offered a deeper understanding of the intersections between media, waste, and the environment, greatly enriching the students’ academic exposure. The workshop held particular significance for the students as they closely align with their course on Business Communication. Through collaborative exercises, presentations, and group discussions with both local and international participants, students gained practical exposure to effective communication, cross-cultural interaction, and the role of media in shaping public discourse. All the participants were awarded certificates of participation, recognizing their active involvement in the workshop. The Department extends its sincere gratitude to the organizers for the opportunity to be part of such an enriching and rewarding experience.

Department of Management Off Campus Class for Vth Semester Students on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) at Folkland Park

On August 27,2025, the Department of Management conducted an Off Campus class for 5th Semester at Folkland Park for a specialised learning session focused on Customer Relationship Management(CRM).

The study aimed to deepen understanding of how modern CRM strategies and software can enhance customer interactions, Streamline sales processes and ultimately improve client retention.

The owner of the “Folkland Park”Mr.Matthew Sailo and his wonderful wife Mrs.Emilia express their appreciation and warm hospitality during our short visit.

The students had a successful interaction, not only informative but also incredibly engaging, providing valuable insights and fostering a deeper understanding of CRM. Students gained a better understanding on Customer-centric approaches and Data utilisation.
