Department of Management Industrial Visit to ZISI

The Department of Management, Mizoram Christian College, organized an industrial visit to Zo International Skill Industry (ZISI) at Kulikawn West on 17th October 2025. The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to entrepreneurship, production processes, and skill-based industries. The resource person, Upa S. R. Thanghmingliana, owner of ZISI, warmly welcomed the students and Faculty members with tea and refreshments, creating an inviting and friendly atmosphere for learning.

ZISI is well-known for its craftsmanship in producing high-quality wooden furniture, particularly church furnishings such as chairs and doors. During the visit, the resource person delivered an inspiring session on the importance of hard work, diligence, and self-reliance. He highlighted the dignity and value of practical and hands-on work. He encouraged the students not to depend solely on government employment but to explore self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Drawing from Christian teachings and Bible verses, he emphasized faith, perseverance, and humility as essential values in both personal and professional life.

Following the interactive session, the resource person guided the students through various workshops and workspaces within the industry. He explained the different stages of furniture production including carpentry and finishing. The students were given the opportunity to observe practical demonstrations of the machinery and tools used in the manufacturing process. The visit proved to be both educational and inspiring, giving students practical learning experience into the world of skill-based industries and motivating them to pursue hard work and innovation in their future endeavours.
