Graduation Day 2025

The Mizoram Christian College celebrated its Graduation Day today at Woodland Hills (2nd June 2025). Dr. Lalhlimpuii and Mangchungnunga served as the hosts for the ceremony. The Principal of the college, Dr. Tawnenga gave a welcome address, highlighting how he finds it an auspicious occasion to host the graduation day for the third time, while giving a comment on the overall improvement in the students of the college. He advised the outgoing students to utilize the college for mind, body and soul, while stressing on the importance of being useful individuals within the family, the church, the society and the country. He used the college motto – For God and my country as a guideline to address the outgoing students for their future endeavours.

The Principal also made the point of how the endless support given by the Mizoram Synod has enabled the faculty and staff of the college to eligibly play their roles in providing quality education. He went on to thank the presence of Rev Dr Lalchungnunga, the former principal of MCC and all the governing board members present at the ceremony. He also stated the ongoing construction of the college campus at Tanhril is expected to be completed by 2028.

A parting compliment address was given by Dr. Benjamin Lalfakzuala, the Vice Principal of MCC, where he stated that the last batch of students graduating from CBCS have all become wonderful representations for the face of the college, highlighting his views that the education and personality of all the outgoing students have seen significant improvements, while praising them for respecting their teachers. He bid the students farewell by advising them to give their best efforts in whatever endeavours they may face in the future.

Prof Lianzela (Governing Board member) also graced the ceremony with a commencement address, stating that the collective efforts of the faculty has enabled various academic and co curricular endeavours to be successful, despite the college being significantly younger than their counterparts. He also motivated the students to showcase their hard work and see the results of their toil.

He invites the students to reflect on the statement, “The victor does not do anything different, he simply finds a way to do things differently.” He also warns them of blindly following what and who is in front of them, and challenges them to do things differently and look for ways which have not been done before.

Students from different departments also gave their farewell speeches, thanking the faculty for their academic guidance, hard work and endless prayers

The ceremony was closed by Rev Dr Rosiamliana Tochhawng, Synod Executive Secretary i/c MCC, with a final remark and prayer.
