MCC Club Day - Art & Music Club Field Trip to Thenzawl

The MCC Art and Music Club organised a Club Day Field Trip to Thenzawl on 13^th February 2026, with the participation of 42 students and 5 Faculty members. The visit aimed to provide students with exposure beyond the classroom through cultural learning, experiential observation, and group interaction.

The primary objectives of the trip were threefold. Firstly, as Thenzawl is widely recognised for its well-established handloom industry, the visit aimed to enable students to gain firsthand insight into the traditional handloom practices of the region. Through observation and interaction with artisans at the training centre of MV Handloom, the students were able to better understand the techniques, craftsmanship, and cultural significance associated with the production of Mizo puan.

Secondly, the field trip sought to explore the tourism industry of Thenzawl through visits to local attractions. The participants visited the livestock based eco-park AH&VETY Dilpui, where they observed how such destinations contribute to tourism development in the region.

Thirdly, the programme aimed to encourage recreation and strengthen interpersonal relationships among club members. At AH&VETY Dilpui, students participated in various recreational activities including horse-riding, boating, and zip-lining, which not only provided enjoyment and relaxation but also encouraged active participation, cooperation, and team spirit among the participants.

The day concluded with a brief stop at Hmuifang, another well-known tourist destination. The members took the opportunity to enjoy the sunset view and appreciate the scenic landscape of the area, bringing the day’s activities to a pleasant and memorable close.

Overall, the field trip successfully combined educational exposure, cultural appreciation, tourism exploration, and recreational engagement, making the Club Day a meaningful and memorable experience for all participants.
