MIZORAM CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FRESHERS’ DAY 2026

Mizoram Christian College celebrated Freshers’ Day 2026 on 24th July 2026 with warmth and great enthusiasm to formally welcome the newly admitted students into the college family.

The programme was elegantly hosted by Mr. Vanlalperka, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, and Dr. Lalbiakdiki, Assistant Professor, Department of English.

The proceedings began with an Invocation by Ms. Naom Lalremruati, 3rd Semester. This was followed by lively cultural presentations. The Chuailo Cultural Club enthralled the gathering with a traditional dance, and Zorinpuia, 3rd Semester, Department of English, rendered a soulful solo performance.

Principal of MCC, Dr Tawnenga accorded a hearty welcome to the freshers in his welcome address. He underscored the college’s vision of shaping not merely degree holders, but responsible citizens committed to the betterment of society.

The Chief Guest, Rev. Dr. Rosiamliana Tochhawng, Executive Secretary of Synod i/c MCC, felicitated department toppers and MZU rank holders. In his motivational address, he motivated the students to pursue academic excellence and to move forward in life with dedication and integrity.

The college also took the opportunity to honor Dr. Hannah Lalhlanpuii, Assistant Professor, MCC, for her distinguished recognition by the International Board on Books for Young People, 2026.

A key highlight of the day was the conferment of proficiency awards. The Dr. T. Lalhmangaihi Proficiency Award for Excellence in English and the Cira Proficiency Award for Academic Excellence in Sociology were presented by the respective benefactors, Dr. T. Lalhmangaihi and Mr. Lallungmuana.

The voices of the student community were also reflected in the programme. C. Lalfakzuala, 5th Semester, Department of Political Science, addressed the gathering on behalf of the seniors and extended a warm welcome to the newcomers. Lalhminghlui, 1st Semester, Department of English, responded on behalf of the freshers with a sincere speech expressing gratitude and hope for the journey ahead.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. PC Lalngaihzuala, Assistant Professor, Department of Mizo. The celebration ended on a joyous note with a special performance by guest artist Lilac, a mass walk and wave by the freshers, and a musical presentation by the MCC Art & Music Club, thus marking a memorable start for the new batch.
