Mizo Department Off Campus Class & Peractio at Mizoram University

The Department of Mizo, Mizoram Christian College, organized an Off-Campus Academic Visit on 12 February 2026 for the 6th Semester students as part of experiential and extension learning activities. The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing students’ academic exposure beyond classroom instruction and providing practical engagement with literary and cultural resources.

The students were accompanied by all faculty members of the Department of Mizo, Mizoram Christian College. The first phase of the visit was to the Department of Mizo, Mizoram University, where the students explored the Museum, Art Gallery, and Departmental Library. The visit enabled the students to examine archival materials, literary collections, and cultural artefacts related to Mizo heritage and literature. Faculty members facilitated academic discussions during the visit, helping students contextualize the exhibits and resources in relation to their syllabus and research orientation.

The exposure provided an opportunity for students to gain firsthand knowledge of institutional resources available for higher studies and research. It also encouraged academic motivation among the outgoing semester students who may pursue postgraduate education.

Subsequently, the group visited the ongoing construction site of the MCC building at Tanhril. The purpose of this visit was to familiarize students with the infrastructural development of the College and to create awareness regarding institutional growth and expansion. The students observed the progress of construction and were briefed on the future academic facilities planned for the new campus.

The Off-Campus Academic Visit was successful in achieving its objectives. It strengthened institutional collaboration, promoted experiential learning, and enhanced students’ academic and institutional awareness. The programme reflects the Department’s commitment to holistic education and quality enhancement in teaching–learning practices.
