The Department of Sociology, Mizoram Christian College, organized a felicitation programme on the 8th of August, 2025, in honour of Mr. Lalfakzuala, a 3rd Semester student of Sociology, for his outstanding achievement in the Zohandco Inter-College Quiz Competition 2025, where he secured the First Prize. As a mark of recognition and appreciation for his excellence, the department presented him with a token of ₹1000/-.

Mizoram Christian College (MCC) won 1^st place in the 11^th National Handloom Day Inter-College Quiz Competition 2025, organized by ZOHANDCO on 7th August 2025. Representing MCC in the Final Round were C. Lalfakzuala, III^rd Semester, Department of Sociology and Remsiamkima, V^th Semester, Department of Management.

This was MCC’s first time participating in the competition, and the team emerged victorious against strong contenders from Govt. Aizawl North College and Govt. Hrangbana College. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone for MCC. Huge congratulations to the participants C.Lalfakzuala, Remsiamkima, Rohmingliana Renthlei and the entire MCC Quiz Team.

The Mizoram Christian College Students’ Body representative election was successfully held on 1st August, 2025 at the College’s main campus through a computer-based voting. An impressive voter turnout of 91.84% was recorded. The election result was declared on the same day at the SHSS Hall by the Returning Officer, Lalmuanpuii Varte.

In the lead-up to the election, a pre-election assembly took place on July 28, 2025, providing all candidates with a shared platform to address the entire student body and present their visions.

Mizoram Christian College (MCC) participated in the 11^th National Handloom Day Inter-College Quiz Competition 2025 organized by ZOHANDCO. Representing MCC were Rohmingliana, V^th Semester, Department of Political Science and C. Lalfakzuala, III^rd Semester, Department of Sociology, who displayed remarkable knowledge and teamwork. They outperformed teams from the other colleges, securing the highest score in the elimination rounds held on 6^th August 2025. Their impressive performance earned them a well-deserved spot in the final round of the competition. Additionally, the MCC student audience actively participated in the audience round, with Remsiamkima, V^th Semester, Department of Management earning valuable points that contributed to the team’s overall score.

The Department of Sociology, Mizoram Christian College, successfully conducted a Financial Literacy Campaign on behalf of the Jan Suraksha Saturation Campaign on the 5th of August, 2025, targeting the First Semester students.

The programme featured special lectures delivered by Mr. Hubert S.Z. Khobung, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, and Mr. Lalhlimpuia, Manager, State Bank of India. The sessions covered a range of important financial topics, including loans for business startups, government schemes, insurance, and other essential aspects of financial literacy.

The event aimed to enhance students’ understanding of financial management and empower them with knowledge to make informed financial decisions in the future.
