Financial Literacy Drive Conducted by Sociology Department
The Department of Sociology, Mizoram Christian College, successfully conducted a Financial Literacy Campaign on behalf of the Jan Suraksha Saturation Campaign on the 5th of August, 2025, targeting the First Semester students.
The programme featured special lectures delivered by Mr. Hubert S.Z. Khobung, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, and Mr. Lalhlimpuia, Manager, State Bank of India. The sessions covered a range of important financial topics, including loans for business startups, government schemes, insurance, and other essential aspects of financial literacy.
The event aimed to enhance students’ understanding of financial management and empower them with knowledge to make informed financial decisions in the future.

NAAC Sensitization Workshop
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Mizoram Christian College successfully organized a NAAC Sensitization Workshop on 6th August 2025. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance awareness and understanding of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) process among faculty members and stakeholders.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Vanlalmuana, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Government Aizawl College. In his presentation, Dr. Vanlalmuana elaborated on the importance of quality assurance in higher education institutions, the role of IQAC, and the key components of the NAAC accreditation framework. He also emphasized the significance of documentation, continuous internal assessment, and participatory governance in improving institutional quality.
The session was followed by an interactive question-and-answer segment, during which participants engaged actively, raising relevant queries related to the accreditation process, SSR preparation, and best practices for quality enhancement.
The workshop was highly beneficial and well-received by the participants. It provided practical insights and guidance that will aid the college in its pursuit of quality assurance and successful NAAC accreditation.

Students' Body Charge Handover Ceremony
The charge handover ceremony for the newly elected Students' Body leaders was held today at the SHSS Multipurpose Hall. The event was overseen by the Vice Principal, along with the Students' Body Election Returning Officers, Students' Body faculty-in-charge and other faculty members. During the ceremony, the Vice Principal presented Certificates of Appreciation to the outgoing leaders of the Students' Body. R. Laldinsanga, Vice President, Students' Body 2024-2025 delivered a farewell speech. Following this, the newly elected Vice President, Lalmuanawma, delivered a note of thanks on behalf of the new Students' Body leaders for the 2025-2026 term.

Freshers' Social and Felicitation 2025
Freshers’ Day is a highly anticipated event in the academic calendar of Mizoram Christian College. It is held at the beginning of every academic year to give a warm welcome to the new students and provide a platform for them to mingle with their seniors in order to create a cooperative and positive atmosphere.
On 25th of July 2025 (Friday), the college celebrated Freshers’ Social and Felicitation, 2025. The program was held at Vanapa Hall, and it commenced at 1:30 pm. Honorable Chief Minister of Mizoram, Shri Lalduhoma, was the esteemed chief guest for the event. He addressed the gathering and expressed his sincere wishes for the college to persist in becoming a promising institution that will shape the Mizo youth and bring development to the Mizo society. He also felicitated the University Rank Holders, 2025, of Mizoram Christian College.
Principal Dr. Tawnenga welcomed all the freshers and gave an inspiring speech. He motivated the students to imbibe the college motto, “For God and my Country,” and encouraged them to be responsible individuals not only for the college but for their community and for the nation as well.
The program was held in two sessions with Dr. Vanlalpari, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Political Science, and KC Lalthansanga, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Mizo, as hosts for the program. The event was kicked off with an invocation and graced with a beautiful cultural dance by the MCC Chuailo Cultural Club. Dr. Lalmuanpuii Varte, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Commerce, presented a statistic on the overall college status. Refreshing performances by students and guest artists were enjoyed as part of the welcome program. All the 1st semester students were given the stage for a “Walk and Wave” presentation; representatives from 1st and 5th semester students delivered a speech on behalf of the freshers and seniors respectively.
The event closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. T. Lalremruata, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Political Science.

Literature Club, MCC Attends ‘Rimawi Poetry: Reading & Discussion’ at In Lehkha
On August 2, 2025, at 2:30 PM, the In Lehkha Foundation organized a poetry reading and discussion event titled “Rimawi Poetry: Reading & Discussion” at In Lehkha, Chaltlang Venglai, Aizawl. The five members attended and were accompanied by Mr. KC Lalthansanga, Coordinator of the Literature Club, Mizoram Christian College (MCC).
During this event, three members presented their poems:
C. Malsawmzuali, Vice Chairman, presented her English poem titled “Stress”.
Lalrinawma Langel, Member, recited his Mizo poem titled “Thuawihna”.
Malsawmtluangi, Member, recited her English poem titled "Unsaid".
The gathering was engaging and meaningful, filled with creative expressions and thoughtful discussions. All members thoroughly enjoyed the session, and it proved to be a fruitful literary experience.
