Department of Sociology: Peractio Course

The Department of Sociology, Mizoram Christian College, organized a special lecture as part of the academic initiative – Peractio on the topic “Skill Development & Employability” on 11 March 2026 at 12:00 PM. The invited expert was Mr. Benjamin Thanglianmawia, a Sector Expert at the State Institution for Transformation. Mr. Benjamin Thanglianmawia shared valuable insights on the importance of skill development in today’s rapidly changing job market. He stressed that society must move from literacy to skills, from education to employability and from job seekers to job creators. He emphasized that academic qualifications alone are often not sufficient for securing employment and that students must actively cultivate practical skills. Overall, the lecture was informative and beneficial for the students, offering meaningful insights into the importance of skills development as a key factor in achieving employability and career success.
