MCC Wins 1st Prize at the LESDE UPSC Challenge Inter-College Quiz Competition 2025
Mizoram Christian College (MCC) won 1st place in the LESDE UPSC Challenge Inter-College-Quiz Competition 2025 organized by Mizo Students’ Union (MSU) held on 27th September 2025. Representing MCC were Remsiamkima, 5th Semester, Department of Management and Rohmingliana Renthlei, 5th Semester, Department of Political Science.
Spanning four competitive rounds held from 17th to 27th September 2025, with participants from 14 colleges, the team secured the championship by defeating strong contenders from Govt. Hrangbana College and Govt. Serchhip College in the grand finale. The team was awarded the championship trophy and certificates by the Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar.
This back-to-back win follows MCC’s 1st Place victory in the 11th National Handloom Day Quiz on 7th August 2025 just a month earlier.
We give all glory to God for this remarkable milestone victory and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the participants and the entire MCC Quiz Team.

MCC Literature Club Hosts First Campus Book Fair
The Literature Club of Mizoram Christian College organized a Campus Book Fair in collaboration with The Book Cafe to mark International Literacy Day 2025 on 8th–9th September 2025. As part of the event, The Book Cafe set up a book stall on campus, while the Literature Club ran a food stall to raise funds. The Club earned a profit of ₹ 4,252 over the two days.
This was the first Campus Book Fair organized by the MCC Literature Club, and it formed part of the scheduled activities for the 2025–2026 academic session.

International Translation Day Observed by Mizo Department, MCC
The Department of Mizo, Mizoram Christian College, observed International Translation Day on 26th September 2025 at the College campus. Dr. Lalnunpuia Renthlei, Assistant Professor in the Department of Mizo, Pachhunga University College, served as the resource person. He is the first and only scholar to conduct research in translation studies among the Mizo.
Although International Translation Day is officially on 30th September, the College had scheduled its 2nd Internal Test on that date, and therefore, the event was preponed. Following the special lecture, faculty members and students engaged in a lively discussion and interaction with the resource person, making the programme both meaningful and engaging.

Investor Awareness Programme organized by Department of Commerce
NATIONAL SEMINAR ON INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The Department of Commerce, Mizoram Christian College successfully conducted a National Seminar on ‘Investor Awareness Programme’ aimed at enhancing financial literacy and investment awareness among students. The programme was conducted in collaboration with SEBI and NSE.
The event featured Mr. Samuel Lalthanliana, Assistant Professor at Government Hrangbana College, who is also a certified trainer affiliated with SEBI, NSE, BSE, NISM, and NCFE, as the distinguished Resource Person.
The awareness programme was attended by 80 students from the first-semester and 2 faculty members, aligning with their academic curriculum and providing them with practical exposure to investment principles. Through the session, students gained valuable insights into various aspects of investment, including investor protection mechanisms, regulatory frameworks, and the importance of informed financial decision-making.
The session emphasized the role of regulatory bodies in safeguarding investor interests and highlighted key strategies for responsible investing. The interactive nature of the session encouraged student engagement and fostered a deeper understanding of the subject matter beyond textbook learning.
Overall, the programme served as a vital platform for bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world financial practices, empowering students to become more informed and confident participants in the investment landscape.

Political Science Peractio Course "Effective Communication"
As part of the Peractio Course, the Dept. of Political Science organized a special lecture for their 5th Semester Students on the topic: 'Effective Communication', focussing on helping the students develop their public speaking and communication skills.
The session was led by resource person, Lalramliana Varte from Stage Ready, who brought a practical, hands-on approach to teaching the students, the art of speaking confidently and effectively in front of an audience.
