'Musical Poetry Festival’ on World Poetry Day 2025

World Poetry Day, observed annually on 21st March, was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1999 to recognize poetry as a means of promoting linguistic diversity and cultural dialogue. Across the world, this day is celebrated in various ways, including public readings and performances, workshops and competitions, musical and theatrical adaptations and social media engagement, among others.

Here at the heart of Aizawl, World Poetry Day was observed as Musical Poetry Festival, jointly organized by the Department of Mizo, PUC, and the Mizo Poetry Society (MIPOTY). The event brought together literature enthusiasts, poets, and students from various colleges and localities to celebrate the beauty and power of poetry.
