The Department of Sociology, Mizoram Christian College visited IUM Department of Sociology on 10.09.2025 and had a fruitful off-campus visit along with interaction session. The students and faculties from both the institutions had a meaningful interaction and discussion session at the auditorium which was chaired by Miss Lalrindiki, HoD, Department of Sociology, IUM and Sir Lalmuansanga, MCC also delivered short motivational speech to the students. Placement drive was also done by Mr. Hmangaihzuala, Placement Officer and the event ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Catherine Lalhruaitluangi, IUM.

The Department of Sociology, along with three other departments of the University organized a programme in collaboration with Alora on the occasion of “World Suicide Prevention Day.” Resource persons enlightened the audience with various steps to overcome stress and other mental health conditions and role play was also held.

The Department of Public Administration, MCC, organised an off-campus class on 9th September 2025 at the Mizoram Legislative Assembly Secretariat. The programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to the functioning of Legislative Assembly administration processes.

Dr. John Lalrinawma, Deputy Secretary, delivered a lecture on parliamentary processes and assembly administration, highlighting legislative procedures, the roles of Secretariat officials, and the Assembly’s function as a forum for discussion, deliberation, and decision-making in democratic governance followed by an interactive session which added direct academic relevance to courses taught within the Department especially in the areas of Indian Administration and Local Governance.

This programme enriched students’ academic understanding while fostering civic awareness and appreciation of legislative institutions.

35 students, accompanied by 5 faculty members, have participated in the Programme.

The Department of English, in collaboration with Department of English and Culture Studies, Christ University, Bangalore Central Campus, organized a workshop on 'Planning and Navigating Careers in the Humanities' on 9th September 2025.

The speaker, Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Culture Studies, Christ University, delivered a talk on the importance of choosing the right career within the Humanities stream and how to navigate through the academic course from Bachelor's degree to Ph.D in India and abroad. The speaker also talked about the different career options students can take up after their academic studies.

The workshop also included a lively discussion and interaction session with the students who shared their doubts, queries and opinions regarding building a career in the humanities.

The MCC Students’ Body organized the College Devotion in observance of Teachers’ Day on 8th September 2025. The devotion was led with prayers and reflections, featuring a speech delivered by the General Secretary of the Students’ Body. The commemorative session included a duet performance from the MCC Art & Music Club, presentation of gifts to all Faculty and staff and a celebratory cake. The day was a meaningful tribute to the teachers and the organizers are sincerely appreciated for making the event truly memorable.

On 4th September 2025, the Department of Political Science, MCC organised "Off Campus Class" at Mizoram Assembly Secretariat. 68 students received lecture from Administrative Staff of Assembly Secretariat Mr. Hrangthanga and Mr. Muankima.
